Winery Director, Chateau Élan Winery and Resort.
Responsibilities included :-
- All operations on site, hands
on and managerial, including wine style creation, wine label
design, lab testing, all winery expenditure, reporting only to
Chief Financial Officer and Owner with total annual revenue of
US$2,000,000, and production of approx 150,000L of wine.
- Winery’s/Vineyards future
direction.
- Management of all personnel on
site, warehousing duties, and winery tasting room/merchandise.
- Maintenance of all winery
equipment, and ordering.
- All grape purchases, and grape
quality assessment.
- All public speaking, print
media, live television, PR events, including VIP tours for
CEO’s, international dignitaries, and company owners of the
winery.
- Active communications between
all departments of the Chateau Élan Resort.
Major Achievements
- Increased wholesale orders by
43% per month.
- Increased bottom line winery
profit by 33% in a single year.
- Broke all records in terms of
profit over a single year, and for highest month on record.
- Re-established a new winery tour
program in collaboration with the culinary department of the
resort which earned over US$10,000 per year.
- Recruited and trained the cellar
crew for the winery.
- Established the first test
vineyard in Georgia with over 15 different varietals with
differing rootstocks.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Dec 2005 – August 2007 Chief Winemaker, Southern Hills Winery,
(Iowa).
Responsibilities included:-
- All winemaking operations on
site, 15,000 gallons/ 56,000 liters made in 11 different styles.
- Hired and trained all winery
staff including wine market sales, wholesale sales, and cellar
hands.
- The health and safety handbooks
and all staff related issues.
- All purchases, and grape
assessment.
- Established a complete
tour/tasting program.
- Created all tasting notes, and
associated literature for the winery.
Major Achievements
- Created a range of 11 wines of
which 9 sold out completely in a single year.
- 2 Silver medals and a bronze
medal from the Mid American Wine Competition.
- 4 Blue Ribbons from the Iowa
State Fair.
- Created all wine labels.

shareholders, with 50 different small volume growers.

2001/2002, Orlando Wyndham Graduate Program, Adelaide, South
Australia.
This was a paid full assistant winemaker position. I have been
involved in large testing’s (500 wines in a week) during my time at
Orlando Wyndham. I was exposed to many different styles of wine, and
been engaged in numerous international wine testing’s. I have had
experience with all manner of machinery, including
Micro-oxidation techniques.
Outside of vintage I participated in
the Orlando Wyndham Classification testing’s for red, white, and
sparkling wines, for 2001 and 2002 vintages. I also participated in
all relevant Orlando Wyndham Group tasting panels, wine shows,
conferences, training seminars, and competitor testing’s.
